Superposition-ing;

"Today abstraction is no longer that of the map, the double, the mirror, or the concept. Simulation is no longer that of a territory, a referential being or substance. It is the generation by models of a real without origin or reality: A hyperreal. The territory no longer precedes the map, nor does it survive it. It is nevertheless the map that precedes the territory - precession of simulacra - that engenders the territory."     (Baudrillard 1988)

If the plane of denotation is a space of latent annotative potential , the pig pen, then it follows that any marking, any transfer, any witnessing of the surface made by the Con-struction of a drawing can be considered a palimpcestuos residue of the plane itself within the evolving con-struct

It follows that much like a physical act of setting out, these compositional references are always present, always embedded even if they are buried. By allowing their presence on the active layer plane the reader becomes an active participant to the drawing. This it follows facilitates a modal shift within the drawing where we separate ourselves from the creator of the work.
